Registration 2011/12

Be sure to read ALL of the information below before submitting your NGHA registration(s).

Please note:

For the 2011/2012 Fall/Winter season:

  • The NGHA is planning on AA teams in the Peewee through Intermediate divisions.
  • Other competitive teams (Novice through Midget) will depend on the registration numbers and skill level of the players trying out.
  • The NGHA will have House League teams in the Novice through Midget divisions.
  • The NGHA will have a FUNdamentals program.
  • The number of HL teams in each division will depend on the registration numbers.

Player Definitions

Veteran player was registered with the NGHA for the 2010/11 Fall/Winter season
Former player was registered with the NGHA for any Fall/Winter season other than the 2010/11 season
New player was never registered with the NGHA for any Fall/Winter season


Equipment required for all NGHA programs

For all of our programs, skaters must supply their own equipment, consisting of:
CSA approved hockey helmet & facemask
BNQ approved neck guard
CSA approved shoulder pads
elbow pads
hockey gloves
pelvic protector (jill)
hockey pants or girdle
shin pads
skates
stick

The NGHA supplies sweaters and socks for our fall/winter season only.  For all other programs, the player must supply her own.
We rent out most of the equipment required by goalies.  Check our Policy Manual or contact Alex Kincaid (613-825-8141) for more information.
Although internal mouth guards are not required, they are highly recommended.  Individual players may choose to wear mouth guards and teams may require players on their team to wear them.  This is at the discretion of the player and/or the team.

Registration Fees

  • A separate cheque must be submitted for EACH program and EACH player registration, made payable to 'Nepean Girls Hockey Association'.
  • Cheques which are returned by the bank due to insufficient funds are subject to a $25 administration fee and must be replaced by cash or cash equivalent (money order, certified cheque etc.) within one week.
  • Former or new players registering for the Summer Program, Competitive Skills Camp and/or Pre-Season Conditioning Camp who were not registered with a Hockey Canada affiliated team for the 2010/11 Fall/Winter season must pay for insurance coverage.  This cost of $32.50 (separate cheque) is in addition to the registration fees shown below.  It is a one time charge and covers all three programs.

The registration fee must be paid in full, dated between May 1/11 and June 15/11

For players born in 1990 through 2004:
          - $100.00 of the total fee goes towards a player's team fees.
          If you register by August 1, 2011, you may pay your Registration fee in 2 instalments as follows:
                    If you register by June 15/11
                              First Instalment - must be dated between May 1/11 and June 15/11
                              Second Instalment - cannot be dated any later than August 1/11
                    If you register after June 15/11
                              First Instalment - cannot be post-dated
                              Second Instalment - cannot be dated any later than August 1/11
          - If you register after August 1/11 you must pay the total amount and it cannot be post-dated.

How to Register

Veteran Players
Former and New Players

Veteran Players

  1. Ensure that the NGHA has your correct birth date and email address on file.
    Prior to the start of registration, your team manager will be given a team list showing the birth date and email address currently on file for all of the players on the team. Parents/players will be required to make corrections as required, with a signature confirming the accuracy of the information.
  2. Put the email address, onlineregistration@ngha.ca, into your address book, or add it to your list of approved email senders. That way, an over-zealous spam filter won't stop your NGHA online registration Notification and Confirmation Emails from getting through to you.
  3. A Notification Email, with an embedded hyperlink to take you to your online registration form, will be sent to you on March 22, 2010. If you have not received it by then, contact NGHA Registrar.
  4. Continue to check the NGHA website for the earliest date and time that you may register according to your birth year.
  5. Be sure that the Notification Email with your hyperlink to online registration is on the computer that you will be using to register. For example, if it was sent to your work email and you will be submitting your registration from your home computer, forward the email to your home computer before it is time to register.
  6. On or after the earliest date and time that you are allowed to register, click on the hyperlink (or copy it into your browser) in the Notification Email. You will have 30 minutes to submit your registration(s).
    1. Correct any information that appears on your registration form
    2. Be sure to enter all required information as indicated by *.
    3. Carefully check the information on your registration form for accuracy.
    4. Click on the SUBMIT REGISTRATION button to submit your registration(s).
  7. Once your registration(s) have been submitted
  8. :
    1. The registration(s) will be date/time stamped corresponding to the date/time they were submitted.
    2. A Confirmation Page will appear on your screen. Read it. If the Primary or Secondary email address is not correct as shown, contact NGHA Registrar.
    3. A Confirmation Email will be sent to the Primary and Secondary email addresses that you entered on your registration form.  If you do not receive it within 12 hours, contact NGHA Registrar.
  9. When you receive the Confirmation Email:
    1. Read it thoroughly and carefully.
    2. Verify that the player and the registration information for each program is correct.
    3. Follow the instructions to complete your registration submission, taking note of the deadline for completion.
      Note: Waiver and Fair Play Code Pledge forms can be downloaded from the website.
  10. Your registration submission will be deleted if you fail to meet the requirements and deadline stated in the Confirmation Email.
  11. If you need to change an already submitted registration or want to submit a registration for another NGHA program, you may get to your registration form again by using the same hyperlink in your Notification Email.
  12. If you need to withdraw a registration, submit a withdrawal form.

Veteran NGHA players must register using the hyperlink contained in their Notification email.

Former and New Players

    2. Verify that the player and the registration information for each program is correct
    3. Follow the instructions to complete your registration submission, taking note of the deadline for  for completion.
      Note: Waiver, Fair Play Code Pledge, Permission to Skate and Release forms can be downloaded from the website.
  7. Your registration submission will be deleted if you fail to meet the requirements and deadline stated in the Confirmation Email.
  8. If you need to withdraw a registration, please submit a withdrawal form.
